Backstory
Smith is the eldest of the siblings, she grew up outside the networks, but she was also one of the first to use them. When she discovered that she could live on the Internet and do whatever she wanted on it, she was happy for a while, but little by little she realized that not all people were using this new tool for noble purposes.
When she saw how the network was gradually taking over the lives of ordinary people to enrich a few, she decided to fight from within it.
She was a legendary activist in the Unknown gang, known for shutting down several illegal pornography sites. She was also known for bringing to justice several companies that were dedicated to defrauding people with few resources.
As a result, when she grew up she was formally invited to join the government body against Internet crime. There her role was much smaller than at Unknown, but she had a salary.
Since she felt that her collaboration with justice was little, she worked on her own decrypting messages to uncover plots that her superiors missed. When she found something relevant, she would contact other hackers to pull down those fraudulent deals. It was one of these investigations that led to her sudden death.
